Cryptid Files: the Beast of Bray Road

What is it

The Beast of Bray Road is a famous cryptid that gained notoriety after then newspaper reporter, now investigator and researcher, Linda Godfrey published a story on a number of first-hand reports in the 1990s.

Not to be mistaken for a werewolf, the Beast is characterized as an unusually large dog-like creature with sinister, glowing yellow eyes. The animal is known to stand on its hind legs and has a brown-gray coat of fur similar to a dog or a wolf.

Those who encounter the Beast report feelings of extreme fear and unease thanks to its threatening posture and demeanor. Luckily, the creature isn’t known to attack passersby.

Where to find it

While the story began in Elkhorn, WI, numerous bipedal canine sightings have been reported throughout the midwest and Canada often between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

The Beast seems to prefer rural areas and is most commonly seen along remote roads and less traveled hiking trails. However, a few unlucky witnesses have claimed to see the creature peering through their windows in the middle of the night and they discovered the footprints to match.
